Remember when you first got your computer. You could not keep your hands off it. Then you got the woofer boxes so you could enjoy hearing latest music albums from the Net. Then came the printer, and that is when you started printing out your own greeting cards, family photographs and funny experiments. Looking back, you will agree that the computer has added such a lot of value to your life!

Worrying About The Printer Consumables

When you got the computer, you got instantly addicted to it. So did your husband/wife and children. All of a sudden you could not imagine how life would be without your computer. After the printer was added to it, the feeling was similar. How could you ever function without a printer?

Your dependency on the printer, would make your life miserable when the cartridge would finish and you find that there are no shops which can provide your kind of cartridge. Do not despair, and do get frustrated. Just use your computer. Yes, you can get anything you need right at the click of a button, i.e. on the Internet.

Type 'computer ink cartridge' on the search bar and you will be flooded with sites which will provide you the type of cartridge you wanted. There is more. You will also find that the Internet has a bounty of bargain offers which will help you save quite a lot of money. It does not matter what type of computer ink cartridge you need, you will definitely get one that matches your needs.

Before you decide what computer ink cartridge you will buy in the end, do check out the local brands of computer ink cartridges which are actually refilled and re-sealed cartridges, sold at least 30 to 40 percent less than the price of a new cartridge. Even if the money is not motivation enough for you, buying such computer ink cartridge is actually highly recommended because of another factor - and that is because it is environmentally friendly.

Buying refilled computer ink cartridges would mean that there are fewer such cartridges thrown away as wastage and hence less pollution on the planet. This may be a very tiny effort - but it is a definite step in the right direction. If you are among those who kept asking, "what can I do to help preventing further pollution of the Earth?" - this is your chance to do something about it!

Top Photo Printing Tips from Clickinks.com

Top Photo Printing Tips from Clickinks.com

1) Choose the Right Paper – normal, glossy, premium glossy, matte etc. You can even save up to 60% on buying Clickinks paper.

2) Use our Ink – Lab tests have shown Clickinks' ink to be the same quality as OEM ink, but of course it is a fraction of the price. So go ahead, print as many copies of your photos as you’d like and share them w/ friends and family.

3) Check your settings – Setting up your printer properly for page layout, borders, centering, paper type etc.

Check Your Settings:

Properly configuring your printer’s settings before printing is essential to producing optimal results for your photos. The options available for each specific printer model can vary greatly, but the settings discussed below are some of the most common.

Quality Options: Printers typically have quality options like “draft”, “text”, “photo” and “best photo” to select from in the printer dialog box. Choose the best quality available and make sure you have the right paper for that selection (glossy photo paper for high quality prints).

Paper Options: Select the paper you have loaded in your printer in this selection box. Printers are specifically calibrated to apply ink differently based on the paper you have loaded.

Orientation: Choose the appropriate format for the photo you are trying to print. (show examples of pics in landscape & portrait).

Other Settings: Many printers have the option to center the image and reduce / enlarge the size. It is not recommended that you use the enlarge function as it will deteriorate the quality of the image (significantly after more than a 20% change in size).

Finally, use print preview. Check that the size, orientation and margins all look right before printing. Once you’re confident that all your settings are correct, print it!

Choosing the right paper for printing

There are many different kinds of paper out there intended for different kinds of print jobs. Using the wrong kind of paper can result in poor print quality or a waste of money. Hopefully, this will help take the mystery out of your prints.

First there's your every day normal paper. This is the cheap stuff that's just perfect for those small jobs, where having a slightly fuzzy looking print doesn't really matter.

Next we've got Inkjet stock paper. This is more geared for printing out important documents, business reports, etc. This differs from regular paper because it has a higher "brightness" level, meaning that the paper is smoother and less absorbent, so the print will look nice and crisp.

Lastly, we've got Photo Paper. You can guess what this is used for. The two big choices here are between “glossy” and “matte” paper. Glossy paper has a shine to it and really makes the colors come alive. It looks and feels like a true photographic print. Matte paper would be ideal if you were printing a graphic-heavy page for a report or special presentation. The colors look bright, text looks dark and crisp, and it has a real professional feel to it.

The fancier paper might make you shy away because of the price, but Clickinks paper is actually up to 60% less than the official brands!

How to save money, and still enjoy life in 2009

There is so much talk these days about the restrictive economy. I, like many others, am always looking for ways to save money without missing out on the things I enjoy.

One of the things I most enjoy is my child. I am constantly taking photos of my child, friends and extended family! I also enjoy all those professional photos taken at school, sports and theme parks. Now, instead of purchasing high priced packages throughout the year, I can print an unlimited number of photos for a drastically lower price using my Epson Stylus Photo printer. My replacement ink cartridge is only $6.95 at clickinks.com, less than the purchase price of one printed photo!

In this economy I try not to pay retail whenever possible. Not only do I save money by purchasing "compatible" ink cartridges for my printer, I also am constantly on the look out for coupons. Whether I am going to a restaurant, purchasing from my favorite on-line T-shirt store or buying groceries I am always looking for coupons on-line first! I can print coupons for the local movie theater, restaurant, boutique or my groceries before heading out, and save significantly in this hard pressed economy! So, save on ink & then you can afford to print those coupons and continue on the money saving path!

Problems with a compatible cartridge?

24. April 2009 07:03 by Danielle Bernhard in clickinks, epson ink, cheap ink, compatible ink  //  Tags:   //   Comments (0)
Since the new "chipped" Epson cartridges have come out, we have received this question a few times. Not to worry, it is an easy fix and you will be able to continue using ther lower priced compatible cartridges!

There are usually only three reasons that this question is asked:-

The transport tab has not been removed. This is by far the most common reason and is very easy to resolve.
  • Remove the cartridge
  • Remove the transport tab
  • Return the cartridge to the printer but
  • Wait at least one hour before printing (preferably 24)

The printer is reporting an error (with lights on the printer or a message on screen). The error / message should tell you what the fault is and usually how to correct it. If there is an error light on the printer but no message on the screen, you may need to reinstall the "Epson Status Monitor" to see the what the error message is (refer to your Epson manual / CD). Messages may include

  • "The installed ink cartridges differ from the original EPSON ink cartridges for this printer... ...You printouts may be different from those printed using the origional EPSON cartridges. Do you want to continue using the currently installed ink cartridges?" or similar message. Depending on the compatible cartridges, the printouts will usually not differ so simply reply "YES" to this message. Printing will continue as normal.
  • Communication Error: This is usually down to the print cable not being plugged in but may also be down to hardware problems. This is never due to cartridge problems.
  • Print cartridge not recognized: This can sometimes be resolved by removing the cartridge from the printer and carefully cleaning the chip on the cartridge. Simply lick a piece of tissue and gently rub it on the chip. Ensure the chip is dry and return the cartridge to the printer. If the error persists, it may be worth tring another cartridge. If more than three cartridge report this error then it may be a hardware fault occasionaly experienced with Epson printers.

The cartridge has an air lock - The printhead is moving backwards and forwards accross the page but little or no ink os being delivered.

  • First check the transport tab - refer to "The transport tab has not been removed" above, otherwise R
  • Remove the cartridge from the printer
  • Hold the cartridge in the orientation it sits in the printer
  • Give the cartridge a firm but sharp tap, down on a protected solid surface
  • Return the cartridge to the printer but
  • Wait at least one hour before printing (preferably 24)

Problems like this are rare, and are limited to the newer Epson printers. Be assured, you can always purchase lower priced, quality ink cartridges with ClickInks.com and we guarantee your satisfaction!
